You can transfer international (gTLD) domain names to your Innovative Solutions account by following a few simple steps. When you transfer a domain to us, we will renew the domain registration for an additional year at our current rate. This is a requirement for all gTLD domains, imposed by the domain registry.
Transferring international domain names can be broken down into 5 steps:
- Remove any whois privacy and unlock the domain with your current provider.
- Check the Admin contact for your domain name.
- Request the transfer through our transfer page.
- Reply to our confirmation email and provide your authorization code.
- Wait for the transfer to complete.
This article covers the Innovative Solutions side of the transfer only. Your current domain registration provider may have their own procedure, which you must follow.
Before attempting the transfer, you must ensure the following:
- The domain’s Administration Contact email address is up to date and uses a valid mailbox.
- The domain has been registered for more than 60 days.
- The domain is not ‘on hold’ with the current registrar (e.g. because of payment or renewal issues).
- The domain is at least 40 days away from renewal.
- Another transfer request has not been made in the past twelve days.
